What Services are Covered by My Delta Dental Plan?
Your Delta Dental plan represents a personal agreement between you and your insurer. However, most Delta Dental plans provide payment for a percentage of the cost of preventive and restorative dentistry services. While we’ll need to review your individual benefit plan to offer specific estimates, most Delta Dental plans provide the following coverage:
- Preventive dentistry – most patients receive between 80 and 100% of the cost of preventive care like checkups and cleanings
- Restorative dentistry – conservative restoration options like fillings and crowns and tooth replacement options like bridges and dentures receive between 50 and 80% insurance coverage
- Orthodontics – when elected, orthodontic treatments may receive 25 to 75% coverage
- Miscellaneous services – like sedation dentistry and mouthguards for teeth grinding may receive a percentage of coverage depending on your plan
What Does it Mean to be a Delta Dental Dentist?
In-network dentists have agreed to charge the insurer’s fair pricing for covered treatments, so you will only need to pay the out of pocket percentage of your dental service costs. Out of network providers may charge higher fees, but you will need to pay the difference. Fortunately, these differences in pricing are typically minimal.
The Benefits of Visiting a Delta Dental Dentist
Because we are in-network with Delta Dental, we have a long standing relationship with this insurer. That means we’re able to ensure patients receive the maximum coverage for their treatments and are able to receive the highest quality dentistry services at an affordable price. We are also able to receive pre-authorizations of coverage more quickly than out of network providers in many cases. When you visit an in-network dental office, you will always have the lowest out of pocket treatment costs and best coverage options.
